Dutch radio presenter Igmar Felicia is returning to broadcasting with a new morning show on Curaçao station Dolfijn FM.

Driving the news: The 36-year-old disc jockey resumes broadcasting this Wednesday following a two-and-a-half-year hiatus prompted by complex post-traumatic stress disorder.

Context:

  • Felicia received his mental health diagnosis in 2021 and stepped down from Dutch public station NPO FunX in 2024.
  • He previously built his radio career at Dutch commercial stations including Qmusic, Radio 538, and SLAM!.
  • A primary source of his condition was his upbringing among Jehovah's Witnesses, which he addressed publicly in a 2024 documentary series.

Zoom in: Felicia views the programme as part of his gradual return to work after enduring financial hardship during his recovery. Although born in the Netherlands, he has family living on the Caribbean island and made occasional appearances on Dolfijn FM and Paradise FM starting in September.

What is next: The new morning programme will air on Dolfijn FM every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
